life and death

One Big Middle

you will not remember being born,
you will not remember your death,
you will remember bits and pieces
in the middle of each breath.

the middle is all you'll ever know
in the mystery of your day,
the middle river where you flow
to your destiny.

Well expressed. True, most of us only remember the bits and pieces and these are sometimes things we regret, and, sometimes our day is a mystery even to ourselves.
