Heartbreak Lullaby

I'll sing a heartbreak lullaby
For your pretty blue, empty eyes.
Put on a darling sleep tonight
Breeze those dreamy curls wild.
When some lover seizes your flight
Come to me darling, I'll sing you a heartbreak lullaby...
Out in the satin moors we'll drive
I'll hold you my stars and my gentlest smile.
Scars and love, don't intend to hide
Listen to my heartbreak lullaby for your lost love child.
Your tired promises are all just waiting to die
Shed a load off your heart and walk in my exile.

I agree with Robyn about the 'interesting' imagery - 'dreamy curls', 'satin moors' and 'hold you my stars' are as unusual as they are arresting. A poem written with a great big heart! Love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
