Refuge

Wandered through the endless planes,
While blue grass kissing the feet,
Treated with the melodies of birds,
Struggling to peep over the horizon.

Retreated into a dark corner,
Sought refuge behind a shadow,
In a cold dreadful evening,
When the clouds were weeping…

For the sake of no one.

a deliberately anti-dramatic conclusion, Jayaruwan...the poem leads the reader on to expect some end where there is a lover or someone else and it ends quite cheekily (and skilfully) with that teasing last line...A good poem, J
