Where did the year go?

I was thinking about this year,
how strange it has been,
all the things I've done,
all the things I've seen.

I thought my pop would die,
My God, how tough was that,
In some way it grew me up,
I'm no longer a little brat.

Then I went to university,
It was only for a single term.
Here I was, 'a little know it all',
boy, did I have lots to learn.

This year was a wonderous year,
I discovered friends at poetfreak,
they showed me I had a voice,
and permitted me to speak.

Thanks to Steve Slims poem,
that introduced me to my mom,
niether he nor I could have dreamed,
of the adventure that would become.

Today I sing and dance and play,
today I find she is every where,
all I have to do is close my eyes,
think of her and she is there.

I don't come here that often,
I'm just so busy all the time,
thank you out there in poetfreak land,
for all just being friends of mine.

Thanks for your wonderful discovery. You must have been very busy. Time flies when one is so occupied and caught up with living things.

Life is wonderful, the trick is to welcome the sweet with the bitter. Youre a great person and keep writing about your journey. Ask me sometime and I will send you the sweet things Paddy mailed me about you, he was really in love with his Pumpkin.

What a year you have had, Pumpkin, with all its highs and lows, the highest high, of course, being the recovery of your pop! This poem is just lovely, and it's always good to hear your voice on poetfreak. Wishing you the very best in all you do...you deserve it. :)
