Painted Black

This is one of my earlier poems....

Painted Black
By: Adam M. Snow

My life is painted black.
My pain, my misery is something I fear.
There is always something I lack;
I know it’s near.

It is like living Hell;
knowing that I am caged;
trapped in this cell;
never to age.

Dreams are what keep me alive.
Fear is what’s dragging me down.
Though I will survive;
yet it feels like I have drowned.

I count the days till I am free;
no longer bind by these chains.
Soon you will see;
for I will be free from these pains.

My soul has been stained;
for all you have done.
I cannot explain;
it can’t be undone.

You’re the cause of all my demise.
Torturing me till I’m blind.
I won’t give in to your lies.
I have broken through your bind.

My life is painted black no more;
for I have won;
I feel like I can soar;
for it is now done.
