I had to cut the heart strings

I had to cut the heart strings;
Nobody cared they were hanging there,
Might as well have set them on fire.

I had to cut the heart strings;
Just a sentimental fool, in love with love,
Left out in the rain, when push comes to shove.

I had to cut the heart strings;
Now all my secrets stay mine-
I think I've wasted enough of your time

Sincerity was always my undoing.

Only the trauma of dashed expectations can hurl someone out of a train to tumble. This reaches a core we all can relate to!

Sincerity is your gift Patty. There are far too many plastic people in the world. Don't let them change who you are.
