Angel of death by Seand1986

Jesus in a War-Hawk

The Third World War in my head....

The CRISIS,
As the
Jesus Christ
Flies over
The Buddhist
Terrain in
A War-hawk
Bomber, shooting
And, bombing
Buddhist minions,
The scattering sound
Of the Rattling Bible
Preaching and cursing
Stupid goons
Crushing them
To pieces
"Non-believers
You rot in hell"
In fury
He preaches…

The Lord Buddha
In pain, ribs torn,
Blood bleeding
Fleeing…..
Dhammapadda
In hand, he
Screams and Fires
Pali chantings…
As He piles sand bags,
With agile
Moves, barb wires
And Bunkers set, two
Camps at war

A third party Enters….

Guns Blazing
Mohammad
With his Murderous
Angels clad in iron
Feathers, shooting
And blasting enemy
Boundaries,
The Cauldron
Of Al- Kuran, making
Burning potions
To send everyone
Back-packing..
The earth revolting
And heaven jolting
The devil merrymaking
Or am I hallucinating?
The religious
Conflicts tearing
my world to Pieces!!!!

A very impressive write, more so because of it's accurate depiction of the state of the world today, and the failure of our major religions to do anything but compound the misery. I'm hitting the recommend button on this fine piece my friend.

The power of your simile is undeniable, but you've got to admit this would make one hell of a great graphic novel.

Beware any religion or non religion that points crooked fingers at another. I believe in God....shoot me!

Ironic that Jesus and Buddha were not men of war at all...preferring to turn the other cheek. I agree with Alison and several others. Fanatics, desiring power and peace through domination start jihads and crusades and all sorts of mayhem. I can see the demons dancing...

Sasha, this is truly a fantastic poem...your imagery is extraordinary. The images you created are stunning....You have so well described the brittleness of religious fanaticalness....and fatalism.

A fantastic poem. But God sends nobody to fight for Him.Men fight in the name of God for their selfish reasons.

The last line says it all. Death to mankind and all in the name of religion - how absurd! You'd think that as intelligent as we claim to be, we could just leave religion out of it and let each man believe as he chooses. When the fight to be right blinds us to sacredness of life itself, we've lost sight of our reason for existing. Love the explosive and vivid imagery in this one, Shan. You have an unlimited imagination that knows no boundaries. Well done!

I completely agree that this poem should be posted and it is confronting and necessary for people to see how people's split beliefs can create wars. There have been different prophets throughout history who have spread the word of love and after spending my life investigating different religions and philosophies, I have come out knowing it is SO SIMPLE but poeple do not get it! So many remember the messenger and FORGET the message. The simple law of love what goes around comes around, becomes a battlefield of conflicting interpretations and until this is realized there will NEVER be peace. We are all created equal as these wise poets have commented and love is a divine gift we should value and NOT destroy. Shash this is brilliant writing and and once again unique and talented and wonderful. Keep up your writing as this is where you excell.

A brave write Shan, our world has so many different faiths, and faith is really the key word, having faith is not proof of the existence of the God people believe in. So they are prepared to die to prove that they are right. For being spritual is being truly human, we are all part of this world all made of the elements of the cosmos, stardust if you like, But our consciousness the life that runs through everything is all the same, it cannot be destroyed for it will regenerate. We should learn to know ourselves better. We would then make peace not war. Alison is right in what is says "all men are created equal" it is the competition to be better than others that causes all the trouble. We should be what we are meant to be "Happy People" A brilliant write, just remember it is love that makes the world go round.

This is brilliant, Shan! A vitriolic, passionate and insightful comment on fundamentalism and its part in war. Oh when will we humans trust in our own perfection and not spend our days striving for a state of being beyond the one we already have. Religious leaders thrive on power and control. On persuading their 'followers' of their insignificance and need to be 'enlightened'. Didn't Christ say 'all men are created equal'? And yet his devotees sit him on an unattainable pedestal which belittle those who must forever put up with mediocrity. You ask the question 'am I hallucinating?'; The answer is - no. You tell it like it is! Great confronting write. Love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

:). Jesus never spoke of himself coming back to make war. :) He said the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but spiritual. The whole idea of man fighting with man is not of him... btw.. the battle would be simply between Jesus (God) and the devil...and all who side with the devil... would lose.

FRIEND you did well to post this thought provoking one ! If non-belivers are reqired to be slain , then instead of God we are worshipping the Devil !And those who take up the sword shall perish by the same sword ! Thanks ! -Raj

Well, I thought a lot about whether to post this silly piece or not.. It means no harm to any one, It just speaks of the religious conflicts that set people apart. I personally have a religious conflict within me and trust me it has not done any good to me till now. I asked from couple of my friends here in poetfreak whether to post this or not and apparently they both said that I should definitely post this poem. Well, anyone can throw either rocks or mocks at this silly piece lol.. Well, I can make a rather long comment here about religious conflicts , but I wont, it is up to you to criticize this piece . And yeah,it is bit silly, I know lol
