The strangest thing I have seen in all my 51 years.

So. That's a U.F.O

Never in my wildest dreams did I think
I would envision what I witnessed.
An image impressed on my brain I will never forget.
A silver burnished disc encompassed by
Blue plasma-like flame. It was sitting at an angle
Of forty five degrees – spinning, ha! Imagine that?
It then proceeded to soldier upright on its edge, not flat
Like comic book tales. But vertical like a glinting
Aluminium sun with its halo all aglow.

Dream I thought. A passing fancy. As it zipped
Out of site over the horizon, when fifteen seconds
Later two Royal Air Force jets ripped the sky open
Passing low overhead in the same direction.
Afterburners pluming as bright as welder’s torches
In the afternoon sun and six chatty people standing In
terrified silence.
