I saw him this morning,
exulting in the dawning light.
A half-grown, somewhat tame
well-fed blackbird
Shaking off the rest of his night.
I saw him airborne,
warbling on his morning flight.
A wide-winged, full-throated
ardent songbird
Addressing day is a rare delight.

This is wonderful Fay, some striking lines that evoke fine imagery, 'warbling on his morning flight' 'well-fed blackbird' 'shaking off the rest of his night'. A brilliant poem from a simple pleasure of watching a morning blackbird :)
As a fellow morning person I'm right there with you Fay. Nice one
Nice one Fay, I loved your ardent songbird. Very nice.

Splendid Fay. You must be an early riser. I love 'shaking off the rest of his night'. You have captured this songbird's charm so vividly.
