Be to me a sanctuary, cloister me in love.
Shelter me,
in covert hide shade my face with proof,
enter into every cell of me,
to show my soul your gallantry.
Shelter me,
roof me with your heart.
In seclusion cover and umbrella me,
with skintight fit,
so we will never more be made to part.
Shelter me,
be to me a valiant Knight,
fight for me
with love's sweet darts,
tried and true, corded round with right.
Shelter me,
gold-filled verse scribed to me will,
like a mighty sword,
cut holes in doubt, cleanse with kindness
weakened trust
and unleash my soft and yielding heart.
Shelter me,
then I will wholly know
love's conquest has to me imparted
a truly welcome glow.
