The Waiting Game

I've wasted days waiting
for buses and boys,
equally unreliable
despite schedules.

I while away the hours,
whittling them down,
crafting my raw bone boredom
into carefully pointed arrows,
poison tipped with home brewed spite.

No apologies, no matter
how lucrative, can save you,
because impatience holds a tight string.
