In loving memory of my brother.

Echoes of Yesterday

The sun lost his way,
And never returned.
The moon lost his say,
And never shined.
The stars were,
No where to be found.
Darkness of the day,
Ruled the entire prey.
Echoing smiles were,
Gone to bed.
Loud voices, loud noises,
Hiding behind something.
Melody of the steps,
Where did you go?

I walked in, walked out,
pinched here, pinched there,
Banged my head,
Against the wall,
Begged to disappear,
Yet nothing.
Screamed and screamed,
Yet no one heard.

It wasn’t a dream.

This is such a heart wrenching poem written to your beloved brother. I always believed that poetry is at its very best when the writer puts his heart and soul to his or her works and as I went on reading this poem I felt your lifeblood flowing through this poem. By writing this poem, you just immortalized your brother. As Shakespeare himself said "So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see, So long lives this, and this gives life to thee" (as long as your poetry remains it will give life to your brother) Great!!

Jay, your poem was deeply felt in my soul. I have never lost a child or a sister or brother or friend, but I know I will grieve their loss. But your brother is not far from your side Jay, he will always be there when you need him the most. You will feel his hand on your shoulder when you are down. Let him be with you, feel him, keep him always in your heart. And one day, you will see him and walk the streets of gold together again. God Bless, Linda
