The sadness of Alzheimer's !!
Monday
I read a book today, a journal of someone's life,
of an interesting childhood, a loving mum and wife,
A caring hard working father, devoted to them all,
of how the writer grew up, with his brother Paul.
Tuesday
I read a book today, a journal of someone's life,
It explained the writers school days, how he always got in strife,
Cheeky to his teachers, always having fights,
Disappointment from his parents, with his detentions every night.
Wednesday
I read a book today, a journal of someone's life,
The writers time in college sounded really nice,
Basketball and women, mad parties in his dorm,
His hard earned education, and his duty to perform.
Thursday
I read a book today, a journal of someone's life,
His fear of his first interview, his fathers kind advice,
Great worry of being unemployed, becoming a worthless slob,
The long wait, then huge excitement when told he had the job,
Friday
I read a book today, a journal of someone's life,
The writer had decided to ask his girl to be his wife,
He had planned every detail and was worried he'd be rejected,
He then wrote of his joy and happiness that proposal was excepted.
Saturday
I read a book today, a journal of someone's life,
He said the loss of his father was like his heart stabbed with a knife,
Then his mothers fast demise not long after her husbands death,
I cried when he said she whispered she loved him in her dying breathe.
Sunday
I read a book today, a journal of someone's life,
The writer said he makes mistakes now and that he used to be so precise,
He went to see a doctor and was told some awful news,
That soon his memory will go and he was going to become confused.
Monday
I read a book today, a journal of someone's life,
This the last page he is writing, no longer can he fight,
His memory is leaving, and no more he has to say,
But at least I have these Journals, that can remind me every day.
