For I have known you

Leaving is the easy bit
It’s the stuff you leave behind that hurts

It’s not the moment that doors shut that triggers memories
It’s the silence that follows their shutting
And though time will dilute these moments
Restructure priorities
The voices from behind the doors
Will still be heard

I will not forget the hard times for the sake of the good
For it’s in these times that you find your friends
That you find yourself
And though my world will be a different place
It will be a better one
For I have known you

A tribute to love which although being lost will always have left some of itself behind for future advancement. An emotive write... thanks.

Bitter-sweet musings on a sad event that nevertheless has transforming power. Well-written, thought-provoking. One can relate to the poignant loss...and the brave effort to live again.
