barely fifteen years old

he walk along the highway
not knowing where he was going
barely fifteen years old
his mother had kicked him out
so he picked a highway
and began to walk and thumb
every so often a tear would fall
angrily he would wipe it away
nothing had ever been fair
in his whole young life
he wanted to report the man that beat his mother
instead she told him to go
so he walked, uncertain in an uncertain world
