Have I.....

Have I built my house with my own two hands

Or have I torn it down where it stands

Have I a wise heart that accepts commands

Or am I a fool that expects and demands

When the storm sweeps by

Will I be left standing tall and dry

Have I.....

A probing poem that allows the reader to also ask these questions. Your dramatic picture and your poem give such substance to the storm metaphor. Great writing.

The last line seems to invite the reader to examine his own heart and ask his own questions . . . and like your poem open to more questions and answers that we won't really know until "the end".

Excellent ending JoAnn with a final unanswered question which stays in the mind..... a house on either sand or rock wil never withstand too much neglect.. fine verse.
