It's been a while...

Breathe

Close my eyes and feel
Every molecule move
From the air through
My nostrils into my lungs
Wait as the oxygen
Travels through my blood
Till I feel it at my fingertips
Through the goosebumps
On my skin, all over my body
To the ends of my toes.
Breathing is all I can do
To keep from wanting to cry
Out for someone who was
Never there to begin with
