Hide in Plain Sight

Hide in plain sight
Hide the hole within your soul,
Hide your dark blots all away
And run away that you shall live;
And live to run another day.

Hide in dark and hide in light,
Hide your life's continual blight-
Hide from truths so they won't find
The blackest hole of all; your mind

Hide in plain sight
Hide the hole within your soul,
Hide your dark blots all away
And run away that you shall live;
And live to run another day.

Hide the brilliance of your soul,
Hide it deep, hide it well-
Hope they won't think to look there
Stand watch to guard it, if you dare

Hide in plain sight
Hide the hole within your soul,
Hide your dark blots all away
And run away that you shall live;
And live to run another day.

Hide in hell worlds of the mind,
Hide in spells they'll never find-
Don't let them own your living soul
Much better far, to live in holes.

IS this a particular form? It's reminiscent of a rondeau, but not strictly so. I just want to repeat my admiration, very strong work!

Love the Chorus Patti of this very powerful write..Indeed it is often better to hide within one's innerself -"And run away that you shall live; And live to run another day." Bookmarked

A powerful piece I can relate to. I often hide in the darkened recesses of my mind! Another great write from you.

Hide indeed! Who knows who is after your gold! And your soul!

Wow! the repetitions have a growing strength to them, the finely honed lines around tightly coiled rhymes unleash your poetic vigor.

very strong lines and rich too - as the comments by your readers show: the poem seems to lend itself to celebration of a way of seeing and acting and yet condemnatory of that way....Rich lines.

All these lines can be quoted here actually..Loved these especially: 'And run away that you shall live; And live to run another day'.Your poetry reveals what is hidden beyond others' understanding, Patti.
