heartbroken... yet still love hungry

__Heart_Broken__ by laide_in_red

A Thief in the Night

Untimely, salty tears
do not deceive me…
and yet I grieve losing you.

Your lackluster dreams
are undeserving of my sleep interrupted…
for hard as I try,
I cannot sleep.

My despair is transitory
as slumber beckons once again…
and yet the inherent, crushing ache continues.

I hunger for your touch
as the pillow captures your scent still
and you return to my bed
as a thief in the night,

to steal my heart again…

and again…

and again.

Somewhere else still I lay awake thinking of you/how you touch me like no other/ pitting in the nights of sleepless churning/my passion verses my pride/would there be a place for me again by your side?/I suppose you have moved on, I am not on your conscious mind POETIC REPSONSE Loved your poem
