Full Moon Over Georgetown by Scott Ableman

Save Me.

Abandoned to myself, solely,
High-spritednesss shrinks.
Unattached and unattended
By all but deep
Discontent, solitude
Strangles elation, decapitates
And stamps on vitality.
Disempowered by
Night's endless hours
I resolve to pray
"Save me from languidity"

you are sharing, instead of bottling up and that's wonderful. The impact of words used, for a second nailed my heart to the wall of my chest.

A deep and melancholy write on the downside of solitude - wonderfully paced and cram packed with perfectly chosen words "Discontent, solitude/ Strangles elation, decapitates/ And stamps on vitality" - inspired Fay! :) kath xxxxxxxx

Purely from imagination, this poem describes loneliness experienced by some, and as Sandra says self-pity can take precedence.
