Self Portrait in oils by blue luna

Hunger.

Morning starvation subsides with distraction
By busily shopping, and keep-fit action.
Hunger creeps back at eleven o-clock
When coffee cup empties and biscuits stop.

Around afternoon a new bout of craving
Appears, sometimes aided by disabling
Stay-indoor rain, fire then begins biting
Again after sunset in quiet twilight.

Taking control is the evening ache
When, day-duties done, composure breaks
And, rules of behaviour flown, hunger begins
In earnest, dreaming then seems less a sin.

But midnight emptiness lashes the worst.
Unglued resolutions free desire, cursed
Flames let loose need as I yearn for completion.
Hunger for you then gnaws fierce, strong and deep.

I love the way you've crafted this one - as the epicurean dissolves into the erotic and the light hearted becomes more and more intense. Superb! Love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
