Just want to share my new experience of living with quails - -- aaahh ! ! !

Chinese painted button quail by zehran

Quail Talk.

They stalked into my life
One stealthy day.
Two little quails.
Pet-owner needed to give them away.

Me on Sabbatical.
What could I say ?
Could I oblige ?
Quails, undisputably pay their way.

So Momma and Poppa
Arrived to stay.
One tiny egg
Produced, in silence, hidden in hay.

Attractive in pairs, quails
Keep well at bay
More of their kind.
Tho with their offspring they are O.K.

So why not try for chicks ?
Turning on trays
Several eggs
Thrice daily which hatch under light rays.

Reads easy in quail books.
But what they fail
In relaying
Is the quail-talk entailed throughout May.

But real chirpy quail-babes
Are treats for Fay.
Might mean sequels
Will follow, like, - -" Tiny Quails at Play" ?

Quails , snails and puppy dogs tails, are part of Fay's equation so nice to have you back dear Fay, from your well earned vacation

A wonderfully heart warming write, Fay, filled with love and admiration for your new "pets." Quail are becoming scarce where I live, mostly because of housing development and the abundance of wild turkeys. Quail, also known as Bob-Whites because of their call, are small but charming and I hope they stay around to enliven your day. Carl.

Absolutely gorgeous! This poem does your special little quails every justice. I just love that; 'One tiny egg Produced, in silence, hidden in hay' - adorable. :)
