A letter of thanks
Friends Like You.
My time away must be curtailed, as friends
Mean far more than rest ever could, missing
Their contact I hastened vacation, mended,
I now return, restoration can wait, wishing
For more pen-friendly company to grace
My day is all I will need, friends like you
Have proved kindness personified, placing
Me fondly indebted, your support truly
Came from concern and overwhelmed me.
Nothing heals faster than amity, so, raring
To go I now set light to warm feelings
And cast them adrift to all who prepared
Me for writing again. This thank you ends
With heartfelt gratitude to all poet friends.

And yet, we've scarcely notice your absence, dear Fay, as we've enjoyed all the well expressed and intelligent comments that have continued to flow so generously from your creative pen. I like the way you've set this one out and the imaginative use of present participles too. The sentiment, of course, is warm and vibrant, just like its narrator. Love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
