Lost Dog Forever In My Heart

Though he was poisoned
He had enough courage to fight back
He was such a brave and noble friend
He was a master dog - night watchman
Poison spread through his nerves
His face turned purple
His tongue went pale
His eyes went red and dipped
Sadly, he died on my sister’s lap
I was shocked…and so so lost
Oh! Such a lamentable moment
He was a great protector
His kindness innocence and love overflowed
Only for us - not for others
He could be dangerous and barked only for strangers
He was tamed and he played with us
We fed him and we loved you
BLAZER we love you now and forever !!!
You’ll be reborn as a good human being
God had tested you by making you as a dog
Yet, you’d proved that you’re greater than us
Why were you born a dog - did you sin ?
BLAZER I know you will be somewhere here
Around me and close to me
Yet I can't see you - I wish I could
If not this time, see you in Heaven.
You will gain a good spirit
My heart is missing you my lovely dog
I will always love you BLAZER .......

Dear Dulakshi, I read your poem with tears in my eyes. His beautiful picture is so like my little Ella (a dachshund who believes she is a doberman with short legs) and your words of lament, penned so honestly and so poignantly touch the soul. Blazer is a great name for a dog. It has authority and dignity - perfect for one for whom loyalty is unquestioned and grace, beyond words. I am so sorry for your loss. Love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Very touching tribute to a pet and friend. I think you would enjoy Keith Robinson's Lamentation to Bruiser.

All dogs go to heaven. :). That is my wish.... and no, they can't sin.... since they do not have the part of God man do...his breath.

I join you in your lament, Dulakshi. It reminds me of Yudhistir reaching the gates of heaven with his dog seeking entry for his dog as well, otherwise to renounce heaven. CP
