Like a Shadow

You
were here
now
you're gone.
Like shadows
at night.
You
lie like
them to! You
Promised you'd stay
but when the
Sun left,
when
life kicked
in, Darkness
just took
your
place. You
left.

Nicely done, this rarely used form is a favorite of mine. This wave sinks sadly into the sand, as if viewed alone on a moonless night.
