I know it seems like I'm going backwards but rest assured that I still don't want anything to do with the guy. I just feel capable of writing a slightly more positive poem tonight and didn't want to hold back just because of what I said. So this is more about a partially fictional person.

Your name still feels familiar

Saying your name still feels familiar.
Like an old friend, from many moons ago.
It's as if my heart's memory
Hasn't caught up to the rest of me
And the choice to un-know you.
It still wants to hold you
In a dear place, reserved for friends, lovers
And all those in-between.
Oh yes, saying your name still feels familiar
So I hope you don't mind if I repeat
Just until I fall fast asleep.

Wow... the first half of the poem puts a lump in my throat. Loved the line : " and the choice to un-know you"... he must've been quite a guy to have filled your heart once with goodness , then to make him someone you want to 'un-know'... Nadine

It is a very common first name you know. :) Sorry that was just to make you snort/giggle.
