old fluffy grey elephant

and tumbles down on a journey

through heavy air.

a transparent

orphan pearl almost,

its sides glint

with inverted reflections

of the rushing landscape

deep down below.

glassy outsides swirl

with stolen watercolours

violently mixing about

in the whooshing air,

furiously getting ready

to meet a brilliant death.

and yellow summer dust,

the blistering story

of its abundantly swift life

amplifies the drone

of an impending kill.

a few gasping seconds

before it shatters

into a glorious explosion

of little prismatic droplets,

mother nature thinks

that it's tragically fitting

that the raindrop

looks like a lonesome

Brilliant! You have such an eye for detail and every way you describe the raindrop is instantly recognizable though seldom put into words. I love your inverted reflections and stolen watercolours.

A stunning write, with every dimension of the raindrop given the prathap polish until it gleams with 'stolen water colours' and ends in a 'glorious explosion'. Wonderful! :)
