i started to write this at work ( it was just an infant thought), i had to leave it and when i came back there were already comments on it. i didnt think it a poem yet but i guess it is.

JUICE

stay
yes I know
sorry
I didn't mean it like that
of course you are not a dog
and no, I do not own you
but stay, don't move
I don't have time for niceties
a little to the left
let me see the tree and river behind you
let my eyes rest upon your frame
yes
that's it
let me drink your essence dry
swirl you around my palate for weeks afterwards
thank you
keep your body, your words, your thoughts and emotions
just let me stop
once in a while
and drink from the fountain of you

It's been a while, Steve. I like the idea of being swirled on the palate for weeks afterward - not every one leaves a lasting impression.
