A Transient Affection

Would you save a little space for me
somewhere you hardly ever go?
Dust and spiderwebs won't bother me
I'll be fine if it gets cold.
Just don't forget me entirely
or leave me completely behind.
I hope you'll belong to someone else
but for a little while you were mine.

A universal feeling. Makes me recall Carly Simon's "When the walls come down".
