Hard Times.

Life's coffers become too empty for some
When circumstance
robs and deprives their rights.
Each day brings trouble, to make
them become
Awash with despair, yet some
victims fix sights
On unseen things, on values
ever unfelt
By affluence,
while fires of willpower heat
Courageous hearts,
who, on survival bent,
Still try to smile at each challenge
they meet.
Tenacity pays when lives are at stake.
Can we raise more than smiles,
for such folk's sake ?
