whose god lost, whose god won?

when you and i argued,
and you lost,
does that mean my god
was proficient
at logic and language?

when you and i quarreled,
and you kept quiet,
does that mean your god
wasn't good at shouting?

when you and i threw stones
at each other,
and your rock smashed my head,
does that mean
your god could aim better?

when you and i grappled
with each other
and i pinned you down,
does that mean
your god is a bad wrestler?

when you and i fell out of love,
and the children hurt,
does that mean their god
is bit of a sissy?

when you and i played
football, and i whipped
your skinny backside,
does that mean
my god was a better bully?

and then,
when you and i kill
each other
with atomic bombs,
will that finally mean
that your god and mine
are equal?

Whose god indeed? A corollary to "An eye for an eye, and the whole world goes blind." Thank you.

This is excellent writing. I wish you could get this published. Powerful words. Universal relevance. I wonder why you haven't got much comments here? Maybe only syrupy love lorn poems are what people understand. They don't deserve your work. They might not understand you. Kudos.

A profound message in easy to digest bite sized chunks that every war-monger should have on their dinner plate. Powerful, palatable poetry. :)
