A reconsideration of a Biblical parable
The tale of "He who had Gone and now
Returned"
is misused in implying
abandonment
means that leaving leaves all feeling
let down and spurned.
The Prodigal knew there was one
really thankful.
someone who would never let absence
kill love.
This heart was faithful, thus never
stopped looking
for welcome return, and desired
to show proof.
True love thrives on hope says the
sacred Good Book,
therefore bring out the proverbial
fatted calf.
He is back, be glad he is home,
well and alive,
Love will not doubt and does nothing
by halves.
Wholehearted joy needs not more,
for survival.
A wise traveler's guide to a biblical parable written with style and a strong historical footing. Congratulations for removing guilt from the spiritual journey. Insightful poem. Love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
