Elizabeth's Discovery.

All amiss with much weeping
.................................. and locked away
Our heroine pined,
........................... but settling her mind
She knew her freedom
................................... was but delayed.
Until Tom could come
......................... a truce she would find.

Her inflexible pater
.....................................desired her wed
But would look askance
........................... .as she was with child.
Perchance he be told,
...................he might give way instead
Perhaps would yield place
.................................to continuing riled.

Had she discovered a way
....................................... that remained
The one thing feared
.........................for this family's name ?

You certainly have the knack of leaving the reader waiting - the art of any good serial teller. In the meantime, your use of 17th C? language and mores reminds us of just how far women have come since pater's wrath was such an impediment to their happiness. Great story. Looking forward to more installments. Love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
