~Another Face

.
Another face, a rusted train,
one more madman in the pouring rain.

Another town, the same 'ol man.
Another cardboard box, a bigger garbage can.

He just wants to be all alone,
the whole world's done him wrong.
He wants to live on the dark side of the moon,
alone and mumbling the words to this song.

And the rain keeps falling as
lightning splits the night.
He attempts a wry smile
as he ties his soul to a kite.

From the highest roof in the city,
he peeled wet socks from his feet.
He mumbled,"Please, please forgive me",
and he landed hard in the street.

(He was just...)
Another face, a rusted train,
one more madman in the pouring rain.

Another town, the same 'ol man.
Another cardboard box, a bigger garbage can.

He just wanted to be left alone,
the whole world's done him wrong.
He wanted to live on the dark side of the moon,
alone and mumbling the words to this song.

"Long you live and high you fly
And smiles you'll give and tears you'll cry
And all you touch and all you see
Is all your life will ever be."

*Last stanza is Pink Floyd's Lyrics from the song Breathe on The Dark Side of the Moon 1973

A magnificent poem in every sense; it's powerful, lyrical, rueful and special. The closing Pink Floyd lyrics add a haunting echo of poignancy - superb! :)
