Something like this happened to me recently - - try not to laugh ! !

A Fixit Day.

In the beginning I just overslept.
And rushing around, fell down in the yard.
Twisted an ankle, and full of regret
Then had to cancel a needed massage.

Preparing the lunch and slicing a cake.
Yes, you might guess, a thumb got in the way.
Cut not very deep, but starting to ache.
Fumbling for dressings, knocked over a tray.

After gluing the handle, carefully began
Making a casserole, chopped at the steak,
Recipe called for a heavier pan,
And reaching on high I felt the stool break.

Saving the fall, wildly clutched at the curtain.
It held, but the rail gave way from the wall.
Fixing it back I began to feel certain
This rotten day didn't like me at all.

You must have been really unlucky, even breaking the stool as some people don't even bother to stand on one. At least something positive came out of it all - a great and humorous poem!

A fun piece Fay. I hope it was meant to be so. I know those kinds of days, when you can cut yourself on a serviette, or trip over a spiders web. Beeautiful rhyme and rythmn.

There are days we should have stayed in bed. A good write, Fay.
