Fight

I guess there's no use in talking
when everyone here wants to fight,
I see you running away from me
as the darkness consumes all our light.

I thought there'd be nothing to separate
nothing to keep me from walking on air,
I thought those words meant something more
but then again I guess there's no reason to care.

I hoped freedom would be better than
tubs of ice cream and crying at night,
but I guess there's no use in talking
when all you want is to fight.

I wished for your love to be changing
so I'd turn into something better than me
and now I'm stuck in the same skin
but I suppose there's worse things to be.

I guess there's no use in talking now
since everyone here is aching to fight.

As I have probably said before, Gina, there is a special quality to your poetry that makes it different from most other poet's styles. That is very evident in this very well expressed poem, which told a solid and very cohesive tale quite vividly. I liked how this fine write communicated with the reader. Carl.
