The Leystones by Steve Slimm

Meeting of Souls.

Every once in a while
something magical
happens
when ordinary life turns itself
into the call of the wild.
Soul meets soul.

And insists on wholeness.
Sensuality
dawns with a mere fleeting kiss,
unfolds
sensation of falling to chasms
of bliss.
Nothing before
has entranced you like this.
You are walking on air,
and emboldened.

Annuling relationships,
which were prone
to mundane,
always failing, this alone
now enlightens
your sad, icy-cold heart.

It inhibits pretensions
once shown, and
exposes vast spaces of new
fresh-faced
assurance.
Feeling it's rightness,
and some
strange release,
you are now totally sure.
Lost before,
you've now found your way home.

Well I walk on Air , Along with soul mates selected by an Almighty God...Who is so wise. I have no Doubts at all.... I am Blessed. And your prose is a sort of blessing . Thanks Philip

Such a comforting and magical poem written with reason and purpose of true soul love. It can hit at any time, but when it does, it is entrancing as you so beautifully write. 'lost before, you've now found your way home' wraps up this splendid piece.

This is rather wonderful, Fay - and recognizable, too. How many emotionally constipated 'sad' souls have blossomed under love's spell? I particularly like: 'It inhibits pretensions once shown, and exposes vast spaces of new fresh-faced assurance.' You express your wonder and delight in your subject with a skillful use of language and plethora of gracefully phrases. Love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Nice picture of two souls to enhance this write. There is always the right one somewhere who will become our soulmate. Sadly mine has left this earthly world, but he is still my soulmate and is still spiritually with me. I like the way you have composed this poem, it moves into its verses smoothly.

This sentence, "sad, icy-cold heart",reminds me of my style, using different words in a group to paint a clearer picture of an event. My wife constantly warns me that I use too many descriptive words,in some of my poems. But-I do feel that she is wrong, and I am correct,in being descriptive,to get my point across to the reader. Great poem! God bless the poets-MJG.
