We otter get together more often by Peggy Collins

A Wild Thing.

Tumbled,
discharging explosions of noise
Down
in torrents of rainbowing, caught from
Top
of a stark towering black-crowned
Cliff,
it splintered its water-light all around,
Until
an implosion quelled further sound, and
Broke
surface with frothy rumpus on the still
Limpid
calm of the flat-plate sun-filtered lake,
Alongside
which, from bullrushy reeds swam the
Vision,
head high and smoothly gliding, he
Silently
paced, spied me, hastily dipped, then
Began
a random, wild-eyed, free-diving spree,
Slipping
occasional furtive glances my way.
Only
for moments this show of otter
Elation,
soon distanced to a mere little blot on
Shimmer
of water, but I never forgot Otter and
Me,
and what wild joy we, together, begot.

The gorgeous images in this lovely poem showcase the otter perfectly. I am totally charmed by the term 'frothy rumpus' - I adore it! :)

Taking each solo word that stands alone so eminently and that gracefullu opens each pristinely structured line....you can gather in the basic storyline of the work without placing your eyes ne're once on any of the 16 lines below these poetic keywords ....Brilliant Work,Fay...Very Impressive, indeed !
