Across the Bay by Steve Slimm

Weather Wise.

From murky
overcast sky
rife with heavily
laden cold
comes out of nowhere
brightness.

The warm sun's face
pushes holes
through
to reveal cornflower blue
circles of bloom,
bouqueting
the day

Smiles begin
undoing furrowed brows
and start
breaking frowns in two,
increasingly.

From nowhere folk want
to hello
and tension
shows a release.

Murky weather moods
have to go.

Wonderful picture revealed here of the changing of the weather and each element doing it's thing, pushing the transformation slowly but surely. Really great write.

It's amazing the power of the sun and a few carefully chosen words. Nice write, I love your second stanza, it's the stand out moment in this verse.

A wonderful description of sunlight breaking through the clouds - and complimented so well by the awesome painting.

Yes, the shining sun has a positive effect on our moods, Fay, and we have been lucky the last week or so since our most recent snowstorm as the sun has shone brightly every day! It is gradually melting that heap of snow we have gotten from three storms, not as fast though, as the smile your fine words put on our faces! Carl.
