Winter Will Pass.

We, lookng to "now"
............................may see icy goodbyes.
Cold can scribe lonely,
...............................but for only a while.

The " now " has no
..........................special seasonal timing.
Winter sounds saddest
.........................when seen from behind.

Fine dawns ahead will
.............................break warmer before
Future birdsong begins,
...........................and wings spring-soar.

Though cold drifts of past
..........................still mist windowpanes,
Sun melts the quicker
.........................on frost written names.

Glorious Fay and do you know I started to think of countries that don't have seasons but just muggy heat and rain how the seasons in your poem have such special meanings. The last stanza is superb bringing hope and joy of another season and it melted me too!

Love that final verse of this fascinating and well expressed poem, Fay. As good as this poem was, and it was very good, that last verse was something special, a great pleasure to read and ponder upon! Carl.
