Needing Him

She wanted to spend all her time with him
to be wrapped around him day and night
warm tears bloom in her eyes as she felt
love expanding the walls of her heart.

She'd never find what she had with him
what she felt for him, with anyone else
and strongly knew in her heart that she
had never wanted it, with anyone else.

Flames that burnt hot inside her heart
never seemed to dampen for a moment
with his every touch, his every warm kiss
they blazed, burning wild out of control.

She wanted to bury herself inside his world
claim him so completely that he would be
wrapped up in her as it had seemed like
forever that she'd been wrapped in him.

It felt so right to be so in love with him
to cradle his head against her breast
being with him was like she'd at last
found herself, then in him lost herself.

Needing him was a living thing inside her
she'd waited a long time to connect with
the only man she'd ever been in love with
she wanted what she had to last forever.

There is certainly an added dimension to a person when he or she can find that special someone and spend life's sweet time together. You've penned this perfectly, describing most lucidly such a connection. Quite a joy to read!

Sorry for the typo. My expression was actually: flying ephemera. In old Greek, the word for Mayfly is "ephemeron." I think we humans also fit into that ancient word, from which we get the English word "ephemeral"--which truly paints the reality of all we are and have in this life. --Michael

It is so sad that such mortal Mayflies as ourselves, flying ehpemera, must suffer so much sometimes, in the brief life that even those humans who live the longest time have. One of the saddest things is to love and not be loved by the one loved, sometimes not at all, sometimes not in the same way or the same fulness. But this is what we have in our fleeet bittersweet lives, we whom the ancient Greeks called Thannatoi--meaning "the deathful ones." It was their word for the Latin-derived word "mortals." More tragic still, with the misery we must experience, some of us cause others of us even more. Sometimes unintentionally, sometimes with a cold-hearted intention. // I just went through a phase of the worst physical pain I ever suffered. But was really all that much worse than a bad toothache? Yes, it was, I recall. And yet, if I got a bad toothache now, it would fill my mind up with gray regret and I could ingore the pain; it would be just as bad for me as before I had gone through such agony. And mental pain can be as bad or worse, regardless of the cause of the pain. //What is worse, cancer? No. All of our little tragedies are big tragedies in our lives, in our suffering hearts. I am sure than many a teen-aged boy whose life was marred with acne (I was spared that) and who faced the scorn and mockery of thoughtless peers, and had problems getting a date, and with his social relationships with girls and friends, and looked at himself in the mirror with tears in his eyes--I am sure that many such a guy suffered in that, just much as I have with my cancer. Because most of it is mental anguish, and that can be truly terrible, regardless of the relative size or kind of the causes. // I care about people in this world suffering so much. With religious faith or with a little philosophy or psychology, we can sometimes ease our hearts of the suffering we must endure. But I don't think too many teen-aged boys with a bad case of achne were helped much by those things. And of course, girls and ladies too have their sufferings; and or either sex, none are worse than suffering that comes from a great, yearning love coldly unreturned. // None of us can escape at least some suffering. Bono, I wish I could cradle and comfort you, my friend. But all I can do is tell you, truly: I understand how you feel; and I care. // Love, --Michael

This touches the heart of the reader so deeply Bono -- love can be tender yet such a challenge.
