Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Ottawa by regimentalrogue

THE UNKNOWN SOLDIER (Attempt at tanka)

Centuries had passed
Like time his memory fades
A grave is his home
The grey stone tells his story
“Lost at war his name unknown”

So stark, reminds me of W.H. Auden's "Unknown Citizen". War can be grim and this poem brings forth that tragedy very well. Marvelous composition, Pat. I am recommending.
