Ruddy Shame

A Ruddy shame they’ve shafted
Kev this way – he’s always been
a decent man, a nicer bloke you
understand in politics is rarity –
a precious gift disgracing all the
dirty depths these pollies pace

He’s plain for sure, of vapid flair
inflated by sincerity to where it
makes you cringe; it’s cruel – he
cannot lie convincingly, concede
or hide distress about duplicity in
lives his nearest colleagues led

With due regret it made him tick
I’d guess; his interest isn’t power
of status misapplied, the game’s
right of reply he sacrificed for air
to breathe that’s clear and freed
intrigues of other’s perfidy
