How about a riddle?! I know, I know, so few of you care for such things, judging from the obscurity of my work, seeing who will refuse to claim sonnets are something of a perpetual riddle in and of themselves? Well, and cleaning a cut with it, I was inspired. For a further hint, the quotes are taken from James 3:5-8 KJV. Enjoy?
(sonnet # DLX)
You keep it reined in, nestled safely, where
From thence by elocution t'will traverse
A varied range from good to ill to worse
Than ought e'er stain, yet often does, the air
Which all must thus inhale. Without a care
Or else with much, let it be so perverse;
Control or lose the balance, intersperse
Its play with what shall please; let it forswear.
And thus "..a little member...boasts great things;"
Aye,"...pois'nous 'tis...can no man tame...a fire."
Yet did you ever let this tool of kings,
As some rare creature, lively, soft inquire
Of say, your fingers, eh? The "muscle" brings
A certain cur'ous thrill, that can inspire.

With it you can bless or curse, repair a broken heart or tear one up even further. Start a fire or bring about a new smile. Really a great piece of writing. I've always found sonnets a bit of a puzzle, makes reading them and rereading them a challenge in itself. Extremely well written.
