If this year-long engaging challenge did not dictate composition, you might be spared a continual update and renewal of the delightful reality that Spring seems verily here a month early. And I wish it had been in force a year ago, since the 2011 Groundhog Day's huge snowfall never did get a tribute, which I now lament, being curious to relive it momentarily at least. Who won't get bored? But this morning was too deliciously lovely that my pen could not resist tracing a bit of it.

The Killdeer sighs 'midst gayest melodies
As Life renews Love's contract under blue
Skies' gracious blessing; though the frosty dew
As hoary lace still gently blankets, these,
While warmth turns it to sparkling diamonds, tease
Heart's longings with familiar strains; imbue
Late Feb'ry's chilly air with Summer's; woo
Again to carefree lightness with Love's keys.
Aye, something whispers on the Zephyr's wings,
Quite tantalizes, winsome, drawing ere
It can be seen. While Maples wait for Spring's
More certain call, and stretch their branches bare
Arm's twiggy fingers emptily, Life sings
Its charming songs to waken ev'rywhere.
