Unmatchable.

Form, being destructible
crumbles.
Shapeles myriads now lie
in the dust.

Yet what of that ethereal
face-mask,
the unmeasured cover
that casts
an eternally unmatchable
glory over
form's shadowy vessel to
enliven the mind ?

That called the "heart,"
though merely
a pump holds something
invisible, partly
recognised as energy it
multiplies its
fruits, empathy, peace
and kindness
being a few and they so
durable will
survive to exist forever.

At separation
spirit is freed, presence
of former
goes back into infinity.
Body and
soul part but remains
Love, proving
these exercised traits
produce beings
divine with complete
personalities,

They will know this, so
say wise sages
and the old holy books.

True Fay ! I recall the song we use to sing in our very strict Methodist School in Calcutta in the 50s ; -"Kingdom will rise kingdom will fall , nations will refuse to hear God's call , but His love and words shall live evermore!" Thanks for sharing , -Raj

The late great Philip Larkin said "what will remain of us is love" and this poem, in your own gossamer light style Fay, conveys your own heart and spirit so beautifully. I read this with a sense of great peace and I particularly loved your closing verse. :) kath xxx
