Death Ride

Foul mouthed fool with a tongue that spits darts
criticizing , insensitive words that pierce the hearts
of broken home children in filth and decay
runnin' the streets and pushing drugs, they've lost their way
it's never too late to give a helping hand
to a troubled teen with no future plans
so maybe you 've robbed a few liquor stores
or started a few too many gang wars
no matter how far you took it in stride
you sold yourself out for the death ride
gave into the selfish likes of worldy pride
ran into the darkness in fear to hide
too scared to embrace the world on your own
the streets at thirteen became your home
you learned to trust yourself and no other
their was nobody around you could call your brother
it was the same lifestyle you tried to evade
but all the drugs and crime were becoming a phase
you were hooked and too far in to realize
you'd been trapped in the snare, left with blinded eyes
the devil had you hooked on all his schemes
he was ou to kill all your ambitions and dreams
if you could only see that this world is perverse
it's love and hate that we write about in verse
the death ride once your on it, theirs no turning back
faith in the unknown was what you came to lack
so now just sit back and enjoy the ride
I hope next time you choose the other side
hell is a very dark place for souls
have you evr had to walk barefoot on a bed of coals?
Maybe then you'll think twice about the devil's scheme
and live out your life with some christ filled dreams
