Sweet Dawn Reflections...

Ah, how about a taste of daybreak as dawn progresses?! The fun of that rare burst of inspiration rousing one to break the muse's fast ere their own breakfast probably is nothing, and yet's still a pleasure. The first sonnet's lines waking me, I chased it down before the sun peeked above the horizon. Finishing as it crested, the second beckoned. Hence a set on sunrise, yet not linked, except in progression.

(sonnet #'s DXXXII,DXXXIII)

Oh Morning ent'ring clear and pure, how dear!
Dawn inching closer, crimson blushing, glows
So warmly yellow; deepest hues first shows
With richest azure hov'ring o'er that sheer
Romance as night's relenting blackness' sphere
Withdraws and renders softest grey; as those
Last remnants of his reign fade with repose,
And pastel shades replace ere sun appear.
Cold Feb'ry frost lies silent in a chill
Reminder of the sparkling e'en before,
Where stars and moonlight cast their wondrous thrill
On scenes of sliver pleasure, lunar store
Of treasured vistas e'er inviting 'til
Day whispered greeting, drawing near, forswore.

# II

Sweet golden sunshine gracing life with cheer,
Emerging in soft blessing ev'rywhere,
Day's welcome entrance heralding with flair
While casting shadows in th'ascent so dear,
Yet gilding all with Midas' touch, as here
And there awaking in clear sunrise' fair
Approach, how precious is thy hopeful air!
How 'loved thy 'liv'ning, warming breath and sphere!
Old Winter's barren silhouettes' array
Seem gentler in thy tender care, the sigh
Of sorrow's long lament lost to thy sway.
As light allures afresh that mournful cry
Eclipses in thy hope-filled bright display,
A promise of Truth's freedom in thy dye.
