Such An Honor

I was given such an undeserved honor,
By a dear talented poet friend.
He wrote a poem, dedicated it to me,
In words of praise and honor he did pen.

It always amazes me,
When a blessing comes my way.
I get all choked up inside,
And never know the right words to say.

But God has shown me that my words have had their affect,
Not on all, but the ones that count.
For it was shown in a poet’s talent,
Of which he has many that I can’t count.

The poem I'm referring to follows:

"A Parabolic Parable"

For Linda Winchell ~ A genuinely good person,
even if she is a Sean Hannity groupie : D

What a puzzling world we live in;
So confusing and contradictory.
Every aspect designed, it often seems,
To deny us any victory.

But if we’d release the death grip
We maintain on irrational youth,
It would be instantly apparent
Nothing’s further from the truth.

The distractions, barriers, obstacles
That frustrate us, at length,
Are a tutorial intended
To hone our spiritual strength.

Don’t concentrate on what seems lost;
Focus on what you’re gaining.
In simple terms, my exceptional friends,
We’re all in “basic training”.

Was so touched by this act of love and kindness from a friend... Friends are indeed like boxes of treasures and surprises from above. God bless them all...
