WAR ( A feeble attempt at Pleiades as explained by Sandra)

Warriors bravely fight
Waiting for no commands
Wanting only victory
When the enemy falls.
Wives wait in fear
Wishing for peace, then
War weary heroes return

(Sadly in war this isn't always the outcome)

This excellent verse presents both sides of the emotions of war; it is so sad that man, created in the image of God, so often is engaged in war.... Nice work!

You get the message across loud and clear in this great attempt at Pleiadas. Well done indeed!

This is no feeble attempt Pat... A great first and the start of many more...you have described the pitfalls of War very effectively in this Pleiades poem...

War means sadness and tragic happenings to me, because my late Mom had suffered much during wartime, I have heard so many tragic stories, told by my Mom,again and again...all these were before my birth...so sad for her, but having heard her stories again and again, I know this war so well and very visible, she got nightmares all the time... Yes, dear Pat, the war heroes return home...not always mentally healthy...I think...but the coming home must be a feast, a great joy for the wives who had been waiting in fear...all the time...Bitters-sweet poem about War, Pat..but well worded!

I wish someone would explain Pleiades poems to me too Maggie! :) The only Pleiades I've ever known are the seven sisters stars off to the side of Orion's Belt and the huge W! Whatever the poetic Pleiades rules are, this is a cracking write that shows the weariness and worthlessness of War. kath xxx
